Charlie Strong came into this world in 1960 in Batesville, Arkansas. He had college football at Central Arkansas Faculty from 1980 unless 1983. Later that season, Strong scored the first coaching gig of his as a graduate assistant with the Faculty of Florida Gators. He served as a grad assistant at Texas A&M in 1985 prior to landing a job as the wide receivers coach for Southern Illinois from 1986 unless 1987. In 1988, Strong returned to Florida to coach the outside linebackers product. He later coached at Ole Miss prior to being named Florida's assistant head coach from 1991 till 1994. In 1995, he was hired by Notre Dame to coach the defensive line for 3 months, in 1999, and, Strong moved to South Carolina to serve as the defensive coordinator for the Gamecocks. He returned to the Gators sideline a 3rd time as the defensive coordinator from 2003 until 2004 and also served as the team's interim head coach briefly in 2004. Strong then returned to the job of his as Florida's assistant head coach up until 2007. In 2010, he landed his first head coaching gig with Louisville, where he led the group before 2013. In 2014, Strong was hired onto right the ship in the Faculty of Texas. Midway through the 2014 season, Strong has amassed a 42 30 career win loss record as being a head coach and is 3 2 in bowl games. He won 2 Big East championships with Louisville in 2011 and 2012.
